Wanted Appeal: Imran Khaliq

From Jihad Watch:
They issued his picture. They gave out his name. They said he was “Asian.” Yet Supt Keith Gilert of the West Yorkshire Police has said: “West Yorkshire Police are committed to tackling hate crime of all types by encouraging reporting from members of the community who are most vulnerable to being victims, as well as those who may witness hate crime.”

Supt Gilert, I’d like to report an Islamophobic hate crime, committed by your own West Yorkshire Police. By publishing the name and photo of this man, and describing him with the “Asian” euphemism that everyone in Britain knows is a euphemism for “Muslim,” you are fanning the flames of “Islamophobia.” You will make people think that Muslims are rapists, and bring hatred and opprobrium on the Muslim community as a result. Kindly arrest yourself and all your fellow police officers immediately.

Of course, were they to respond, the West Yorkshire Police would say that they meant no criticism of Islam or Muslims at all, and that they’re merely trying to track down a criminal. But even that is “Islamophobic” today. Remember that in July 2012, the FBI ran a terrorism awareness campaign in Seattle featuring bus ads depicting photos of 16 wanted terrorists, all of whom were Muslim. Even though the ad never mentioned that they were all Muslim, the ad ran their faces and names, and so Leftist and Muslim advocacy groups prevailed upon Seattle authorities to take it down as “Islamophobic.” Then Pamela Geller and I tried to put the ad back up, and Seattle refused; our lawsuit is ongoing. Seattle contends that security concerns have to take a back seat to considerations of “Islamophobia.” We counter that such an idea endangers us all. If terrorists or rapists are Muslim, that fact should not protect them from being exposed and hunted for, or from capture, arrest and prosecution.

If it is “Islamophobic” in Seattle to publish photos and names of terrorists because they’re all Muslims, then it’s “Islamophobic” in West Yorkshire to publish the photo and name of a rapist because he is Muslim. And in Britain today, “Islamophobia” is a very serious crime. The West Yorkshire Police should turn themselves in en mass to authorities forthwith.
From West Yorkshire Police:
Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of Imran Khaliq.

Khaliq, who is 38 and from Bradford was found guilty at Bradford Crown Court last month of raping a 17-year-old girl last year.

He failed to appear for the verdict and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police have made extensive enquiries to trace him and are now issuing a public appeal to assist with their efforts.

He is described as Asian, of slim build and around 5ft 6ins tall.

He has links to the Greater Manchester area.

Detective Chief Inspector Paula Bickerdike, of Bradford District Police, said:

“We are appealing to the public to help us trace Khaliq, who is due to be sentenced in his absence later this year.

“It is important that he faces justice for this serious offence and enquiries to trace him are ongoing.

“There is no information at this time which suggests he poses a risk to the public, but we would ask for anyone who sees him not to approach him and to contact police on 101, so he can be brought back before the courts to be sentenced for this offence.”
