To Aid Muslims In War-Torn Syria, A Christian Organization Turned To Jews, Israel For Help

From IJR:
For years, Syria has been rocked by war, and to say the people have suffered is an understatement. While many humanitarian organizations provided aid to desperately-in-need Syrians, one organization found itself at a roadblock.

According to CBN News, when the Christian humanitarian aid organization Friend Ships Unlimited couldn't get goods to Syria by way of Lebanon or Jordan, it turned to Syria's only other neighbor — Israel.

Don and Sondra Tipton co-founded the organization, and they admitted to being slightly surprised by the Jewish state's response to their request.

However, Israel had a “great willingness” to help Syria, which resulted in a powerful combination of faiths. Don told CBN News:

“We had no idea that we would run into such a loving friend in Israel — that they would have the same vision for helping these people as we did, as Christians. So, we have Jews helping Christians to help the Muslims.”

Together, the two built Camp Ichay, which not only provides medical attention but gives kids — most of whom have only known war — a place where they can just be kids. The children's room has a bounce house, trampoline, and a snow cone machine.
