Converted Church Bombed In Sweden

From Friatider:
The entrance to the nightclub Babel in Malmö was blown up the night to Friday. According to the police, it is unknown what type of explosive has been used, but it is not about "bangers". The deceased is classified as common destructive destruction.

It was at 00.35 tonight that the police were alerted for an detonation at Spångatan in Malmö.

When the police arrived, it turned out that the façade and entrance to the restaurant and nightclub Babel had been blown away.

The restaurant, which is a converted church, was closed at the time and therefore no person was injured. But the place was blocked and national bombing and technicians were sent to the site.

According to the police, it is "unknown what type of explosive has been used, but the assessment is that there are no so-called bangers that caused detonation," he writes on his website.

The police have talked to the club owner but there should be no known threat image to the club, which was exposed to a similar detonation just a year ago. Even then someone had placed an explosion charge outside the nightclub's door. And even then there was a threat to the restaurant.

"The pressure gauge has blown out windows up to the third floor of the building," said SVT's freelance photographer Mikael Nilsson to SVT Nyheter Skåne in connection with the previous explosion.

Babel is a so-called "party church" with a large Christian cross on the facade. The restaurant was opened in September 2008.

The event is classified as common destructive destruction.
