Spike In Palestinian Violence Over 24 Hours, Just In Time For Jewish High Holidays

Whenever there's a Jewish holiday, Palestinians try to kill Jews. Could it be because they're racists?

From Breaking Israel News:
In just under 24 hours, Palestinian terror across Israel has experienced a sharp spike, reaching unprecedented levels of violence.

Sunday evening, Israeli vehicles traveling in Judea and Samaria were attacked in a spate of rock throwing attacks. Three cars were damaged on Route 443, northwest of Jerusalem, as Palestinians hurled stones at the passing cars.

Israeli drivers on Route 60, located near the Beit Anun intersection near Hebron, were also attacked by stone throwers. North of Jerusalem, Egged bus #149 traveling between Hizma and Anatot was also struck by rocks.

Early Monday morning, an IDF soldier was wounded after he and his unit came under attack by Palestinian rock throwers near the Tomb of Joseph, located outside Nablus.

Dozens of Palestinians attacked the unit by throwing stones, Molotov cocktails, as well as rolling burning tires towards the soldiers. Several soldiers were lightly injured in the incident, with one soldier taken to the hospital for treatment for more severe wounds.

The soldiers were guarding Jewish worshipers who came to pray at the tomb. Under control of the Palestinian Authority, Jews are only allowed access to the holy site once per month. It has been a source of Israeli-Palestinian tensions in the past.

In southern Israel, a rocket fired by terrorists in the Gaza Strip exploded early Monday morning. The rocket landed in an open field in the Hof Ashkelon region, the IDF stated. Air raid sirens were not activated.

Monday’s rocket attack is the third such attack since Friday, when ISIS affiliated terrorists fired a rocket towards Sderot and Ashkelon.

One rocket exploded in a residential area in Sderot, with no injuries reported. Damage to property occurred and several Israelis were transported to the hospital for shock. A second rocket was later fired towards Israel and was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

A day earlier, the IDF deployed an Iron Dome battery near Ashdod, just north of Sderot, in anticipation of an attack.

Sunday and Monday’s attacks are part of a recent wave of Palestinian violence against Israelis in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem. On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for harsher punishments against rock throwers and firebombers, including longer prison sentences and the use of sniper fire against attackers, following a week of severe violence on the Temple Mount and in the surrounding area.
